By Jona Poems
A voice echoed from afar
A call to pause,
To reflect,
To ask: Who leads us now?
We knew their faces…
Yet we stayed silent.
These politicians
They shattered our peace.
Let us unite.
We cannot raise a nation
With tainted thoughts
And selfish hands —
Hands eager to receive,
But never to labour,
Never to give.
For a small “Chilembwe,”
We sell tomorrow,
We break the walls that held our peace.
Let us unite.
Even the Scriptures speak of love
The sacred power
That humbles the greedy
And heals the land.
Let us rise,
Let us mend,
Let us build a home
Together.
